Advent is a time of waiting. A time to focus on hope, peace, love, and joy. I am trying, but sometimes life gets in the way. We have had an electrical issue at our house that left us with only partial power (no car charger, no refrigerator, stove, or blower from the furnace!) Light in only one bedroom (not the one we use!), and a few random outlets had power. This was a little stressful! Focusing on hope, peace, love, and joy became a little difficult. Although finding that focus was difficult, it helped me to work around the problems while waiting for help. After about 30 hours, the power company ran an impressive-looking cable down the driveway to the electrical panel, and we now have power throughout the house. God is good. Workmen who know what they are doing will get us back to a fully functioning home. I am reminded that homeless people do not have hope that tomorrow night will be warmer. I am thankful that I do.
