This course is designed for those who have not completed formal preaching training who may be called upon to preach in a pastor’s absence. It is the required preaching course in the lay speaker track of study.
Facilitated by Rev. Carl Peterson, this course meets in person on Saturdays (April 15, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM and April 22, 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM) at Sierra Vista UMC at 3225 St. Andrews Dr, Sierra Vista, AZ 85650. Attendance is required on both Saturdays to receive credit.
The cost of the class is $15, and the class size is limited to 15 people. The deadline for registration is April 7, 2023.
Masks are optional. No food will be served, but bottled water will be provided. Bring your own lunch, snacks, and your class book: “From Pew to Pulpit” by Clifton F Guthrie. The class book is available for purchase from the following:
