The UMC stance is balanced and compassionate and takes into account the autonomy of women to make their own decision on what is best for their lives and the future. In the end, no legal court, no political system, and no church can unilaterally make that decision for an individual woman.

As the Bishop and Appointive Cabinet prepare of the appointment year 2022, the Cabinet has agreed to use a practice that Bishop Grant has used for most of his episcopal career. It is our prayer that people experience a stronger sense of transparency and collaboration in the appointment process.
