A Need for Camp Scholarships

We know that camp times mean FUN, exploration, and community connection. We also know that camp allows young and older people to practice and hone 21st-century skills. Things like critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, and so much more!

We also know that camp offers real, in-person experiences in nature. These experiences serve to soothe an overly anxious and depressed population. Time in creation, surrounded by a loving community, offers healing to folks burdened by stress, the pressures of social media, and the overwhelming tether of technology.

Still, with inflation where it is and the unstable economic situation, more families need support to make what we offer possible. As we look to the first “normal” summer after years of COVID, we anticipate the increased need for financial support for the families we serve.

This year, we hope to offer 81 full (or partial) camperships. Overall, that’s $40,000 between the ministries at Mingus Mountain and Potosi Pines. The children and youth recipients of these campership funds will enjoy a camp experience–soothing their souls, providing fun in a safer setting, and enjoying creation in community.

Only dedicated folks like YOU can help “fill our ship” with the financial resources needed to make camp possible for our 2023 campers and families. Donate a full campership fee of $494 of any portion thereof to support the campers of Mingus Mountain and/or Potosi Pines.
