Courses Offered
Leading Public Prayer – Prayer is something we learn; it is something that can be taught. For many, however, the only teaching about prayer they ever receive is modeled in Sunday worship. This course may challenge some of your assumptions, test some of your preconceived ideas, stretch your thinking, and enrich your prayer life. It will, at the very least, present you with an opportunity to grow in the discipline of leading public prayer. Participants text: Shaping the Prayers of the People: The Art of Intercession by Samuel Wells and Abigail Kocher
The course is scheduled for Saturdays, October 8 & 15 at Gila Mountain UMC, Yuma, AZ, 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. The class will finish with Holy Communion and Graduation. (you will need to commit to both sessions) (all times are Arizona time)
Participants are responsible for purchasing and reading the text in advance of the course. Participant textbooks are available from Cokesbury.com. You might also find Kindle and printed versions from Amazon.com. If you have any questions contact Betty Stewart, bettyboop491@cox.net.
