The Prison Reform Task group is holding a series of conversations on Prison Reform. The talks will delve into the Arizona Prison environment and cover a gamut of topics from incarceration to prison life, and life-after-prison. Individuals with experience in the legislative, prison, or life-after-prison environments will lead the conversations. The first discussion will cover incarceration, with Judge Cecil Ash offering his legal and legislative insights. Click here to download a PDF of his biography.
We anticipate about an hour length, but we will be offering the opportunity to send questions prior to the presentation and during or afterward. We’ll end the conversation when all questions have been discussed or at 8:20 PM, whichever comes first.
Attendance for these conversations is available either on-site in the Galvan meeting room at the Desert Southwest Conference, 1550 E Meadowbrook Avenue, Phoenix, AZ, or remotely via live stream. Churches and individuals can use this link https://zoom.us/j/4900105726 to participate remotely. Please email your questions for Judge Ash in advance to along with a request for the print outs that will be distributed in person.
It can be a life-changing event for you and your church. Knowing more about the entire Prison environment, its laws, its treatment of incarcerated individuals and the long-lasting effects on those incarcerated, is a good reason to attend. But as a Jesus moment, it may also energize you or your church to engage with those who have been incarcerated.
