Mission u Study Leaders

Mission u is blessed with each year with wonderful study leaders. This year’s study will be led by the following.


Colvin, Rev. RulaRev. Dr. Rula Colvin is a 3rd generation native of Arizona. She grew up in the small town of Gila Bend. Before answering the call to ministry she worked for the US Postal Service. She received her BA degree from Ottawa University, a Master of Divinity from Claremont School of Theology, and a Doctor of Ministry from Wesley Seminary. She served in a variety of church settings during her 20 years of ordained ministry. She retired from full time ministry in 2020 and enjoys reading and traveling. She has begun taking fused glass art classes, and has recently been appointed as part-time Minister of Congregational Care and Red Mountain United Methodist Church, She loves teaching and learning.




Christine Jones is a professor at Glendale Community College. She grew up in Phoenix and attended university at NAU, where she earned a BA in Religious Studies, a BA in English, and an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language. She has taught English for over 16 years in four countries. She began to explore her call to ministry as a student at NAU and moved into missionary work while living abroad. She is in the process to become a candidate for local pastor and is excited about the future.  She is also an active member of the United Women of Faith and serves as the Vice President for the West District of the Desert Southwest.
